Nikole Rae Peacock loves to create freely, allowing the journey to unfold with curiosity and an open heart whether painting on driftwood or canvas. Recently her parents took down a 100-year-old barn on their family property in Clatsop County, near Astoria, Oregon. Some of the pieces have been reclaimed from other sources that Nikole collected over the years. Nikole cleans and preps the wood to utilize as her canvas. This history adds to the nostalgia of each painting. The result is this very natural feel of the grains in the wood echoing the currents in the ocean and the patterns in the sand. The wood grain lends itself beautifully to this translation.
